Israeli Tour Guide to Become Our Remote Community Shaliach

The JCRC of SNJ is excited to welcome Gil Bray, who will be our Remote Community Shaliach for the remainder of this school year. COVID-19 put a stop to Israeli emissaries being sent throughout the world, but with a little creativity and a generous grant from the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), communities across the globe can now have their own Shaliach live from Israel.

Gil is a tour guide in Israel and is working on a degree in archeology. Prior to COVID-19, he was the community Shaliach in Houston, TX and spent time in Nashville, TN as a counselor and song leader at the Gordon JCC there.  He is already practically family!  Gil will be joining us just in time for Yom HaAtzma’ut and Shavuot.  As a tour guide, he is ready to give us virtual tours of Israel and spend time talking to our local groups and schools about an array of topics.  He also does culinary tours of Israeli restaurants, so get ready for that virtual cooking demo!  If you would like to schedule a visit with Gil, please reach out to Sabrina Spector at
